CDC is filling this COVID-19 Temporary appointment position under Title 5 CFR 213.3102(i)(3) based on a critical hiring need resulting from the outbreak and spread of the "Coronavirus Disease 2019" (COVID-19), which has caused a public health emergency. Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-5 level of difficulty and responsibility in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph. Specialized experience is experience at or equivalent to which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include working in a Human Resource office researching and providing HR information to management, staff or customers; utilizing automated systems to create HR documents; and assist HR Specialist with personnel actions. APPLYING FOR GS-7 Applicants must have one year of specialized experience and/or education at or equivalent to the GS-6 level of difficulty and responsibility in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph. Specialized experience is experience at or equivalent to which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include providing assistance with recruitment and placement and/or classification functions; or experience independently processing a variety of personnel actions; and providing assistance in a Human Resource office to ensure accuracy and timeliness of personnel actions; or Have graduate level education in a field of study directly related to the work of this position; or Have a combination of specialized experience and graduate education as described above to meet 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. *Note: As a general rule, education is not creditable above GS-5 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position.
