Reports to: Senior Marketing Manager

Overview: Writes, edits, proofreads, and copyedits content for various channels including web, email, social media, video, sales enablement, and print. Researches, validates, and develops clear and compelling content that adheres to marketing objectives, and required branding and style guidelines. Incorporates search engine optimization best practices in all materials produced. Ensures that all grammar, spelling, flow, tone, and style are appropriate for the writing project. Utilizes content management tools to create and curate all materials.

Major Objectives, Responsibilities, and Tactics:

  • Produce well-researched content for predominantly online channels
  • Take complex medical information and technologies and explain them in a consumer-friendly way
  • Complete drafts for stakeholder review and finish projects within deadlines
  • Understand value propositions, positioning, benefits, and features and incorporate these ideas into content
  • Partner with content stakeholders, subject matter experts, and marketing peers
  • Manage and follow an editorial calendar and ensure timely delivery of content
  • Develop related content for multiple platforms, such as websites, email marketing, product descriptions, videos, blogs, and internal communications
  • Use search engine optimization (SEO) strategies in writing to maximize the online visibility of a website in search results
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of key performance indicators (KPIs) to offer suggestions for improvement

Qualifications:

  • Proven record of excellent writing demonstrated in a professional portfolio
  • Impeccable grasp of the English language, including idioms and current trends in slang and expressions
  • Ability to work independently with little or no daily supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to communicate with colleagues and managers
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with different objectives simultaneously
  • Good time management skills, including prioritizing, scheduling, and adapting as necessary
  • Background as a speech language pathologist or as a content marketer within the healthcare industry (Preferred)

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Formal Education:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in English, Communication, Journalism or equivalent.
