We are a handmade biscuit company with a small family of bakers, honoring the tradition of southern biscuit making, and forging new traditions for those we serve.

We are looking for an HR Generalist to join our team and implement various human resources programs.

Position Summary:

As HR Generalist you will undertake a wide range of HR tasks, like organizing trainings, onboarding new employees, maintaining employee files, Worker’s Compensation claims, administering employee benefits and leaves and implementing HR policies. And you’ll also act as the main point of contact for employees’ queries on HR-related topics.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Administer compensation and benefit plans; work with brokers for enrollment
  • Manage open enrollment
  • Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes
  • Partner with financial adviser to design all compensation plans
  • Work with District Manager and financial adviser to incentivize employees and increase employee engagement
  • Conduct employee onboarding and help organize training & development initiatives
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics
  • Offer guidance throughout the year and assist managers on the continual feedback process
  • Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
  • Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies
  • Undertake tasks around performance management
  • Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form
  • Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits and organizing team building activities
  • Ensure compliance with labor regulations at both the retail locations and the distribution facility
  • File worker’s comp claims with carrier and communicate with adjuster as required
  • Maintain OSHA records and file annual OSHA report
  • Handle unemployment claims and disputes
  • File mandated reports as required
  • Assist with all internal and external HR related matters
  • Investigate employee grievances
  • Provide final oversite of all payroll functions
  • Keep up-to-date with HR trends and best practices and employment law changes


  • Must enjoy a fast-paced environment
  • Requires occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs
  • Requires frequent bending, stooping, and twisting
  • Most duties are performed while sitting
  • Exposure to various temperature changes


  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field
  • HR certification through HRCI or SHRM
  • Solid knowledge of employment/labor laws
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar HR related role
  • Experience working in the hospitality/ food & beverage industries is a plus, but not required
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Must use discretion and protect sensitive data
  • Exceptional recordkeeping skills
  • Ability to assess multiple projects and prioritize accordingly
  • Able to read, write, and demonstrate general math skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
