Job Responsibilities:

Performs and is capable of demonstrating all essential Patient Support and data entry job functions.

Responds to incoming calls from referral sources and/or potential patients, Home Health Agencies, Account Managers and exchanges information to identify the organization’s ability to meet the needs of the patient, on a case-by-case basis.

Receives incoming faxes, provides all relevant information to ensure patients’ smooth transition to home care and contacts referral sources to advise of referral status and enters patient data into billing software. Makes calls to patients to advise them of new referral, interviews patient to find out if same/similar type of equipment has been received before and ensures we have correct insurance information on file.

Documents and routes all calls in a manner consistent with the organization’s policies and procedures. Conducts courtesy follow-up calls, as required by Company policy and procedure.

Identifies potential payer sources, verifies benefits and eligibility with payer sources (as required by department organizational structure), negotiates rates and obtains initial authorizations from insurance companies.

Works with the Intake team, branch staff, warehouse and patients to identify potential solutions as problems are identified with payer sources.

Communicates patient support issues to management, as appropriate.

Ensures compliance with Company policies and procedures.

Works effectively with other company employees, managers, and departments.

Must speak English and Spanish to be able to communicate with patients and/or family members.

Must be able to type 55 wpm.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $9.50 - $11.50 per hour
