Serves as the primary residency expert for residency classifications for initial and reclassification of residency for tuition purposes. Assists with judicial related inquiries and supports with judicial review process.
Responsible for managing the processing and evaluation of freshman, transfer, readmission, non-degree seeking, and transient student applications. Ensures that the admission processing functions are in compliance with established University and Board of Governors procedures and policies. Troubleshoots online fee payment and application problems. Determines appropriate course of action in unusual or extenuating circumstances relating to the processing of applications. Interprets audit reports & manages the auditing of all application types at the beginning of each term. Serves as the primary residency expert and manages residency classifications for initial and reclassification of residency for tuition purposes Responds to complex residency issues. Interprets State rules and regulations to determine residency classification. Assists with judicial related inquiries and supports with judicial review process.
Counsels applicants, parents, high school/college counselors, department representatives, & other University personnel(via phone, in person, or e-mail) regarding the processing of admission applications, providing expertise and advice regarding the application process. Provides support, information, and guidance to the Assistant Director for Processing by participating in discussions and testing with Information Technology Services regarding changes to the student information system, the functionality of admissions applications, and the Online Status Check tool. Monitors and assesses processes continually; reviews and evaluates policies procedures pertaining to the Processing Section. Recommends changes to improve efficiency and compliance, and shares responsibility for the implementation of changed procedures. Participates in special events hosted by the department assists other sections during peak times in support of the goals of the Office of Enrollment Management. Qualifications A Bachelor's degree and one year of experience, or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to five years. Experience should be relevant and related to the responsibilities of the job.
Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or comparable software.
Ability to prioritize and organize multiple work assignments simultaneously. Preferred A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of experience relevant and related to the responsibilities of the job are preferred. We seek energetic candidates who are detail-oriented, organized and can work well independently as well as in a team. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to multi-task, and should have a strong sense of initiative with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities concurrently. Experience interpreting and applying policies and procedures. Preferred candidates will be familiar with university admissions application processes, and should be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Experience counseling and/or providing expertise and advice is preferred. Anticipated Salary Range Mid to High 30s Pay Plan This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
